The construction company BK Construction participated and won
the USAID grant competition in the Employers for Vocational Education program
grant competition. BK Construction participates in this grant program in
conjunction with Construction College Construct2.
On March 28, in the city of Zestafoni, in Construct2, a
ceremony was held to sign a grant agreement between BK Construction and the
USAID Employers for Vocational Education program.
The event was attended by representatives of BK Construction, USAID,
Construct2 Construction College and the Ministry of Education and Science of
Georgia, including USAID Mission Director Peter Wibler, BK Construction
Managing Partner Shota Berekashvili, Director of the Skills Agency of the
Ministry of Education. and Science of Georgia Tamar Kitiashvili and Director of
Construct2 Tamar Zakarashvili.
The Construction College is a joint project of Construct2 BK
Construction and the Ministry of Education and Science. The college is focused
on the development of the construction industry in the country and the training
of highly qualified personnel.
This grant will be used to provide human capital with
knowledge and skills that meet the requirements of the construction sector,
attract employers to improve skills, and establish a direct link between
training programs and employment opportunities.
Together with USAID, this grant provides for the financial
participation of BK Construction in achieving the goals of the program.
This grant project will last eight months. The purpose of the
program is, on the one hand, to increase the popularity of vocational education
in the country, and on the other hand, to convey information about the
short-term training courses of the Construct2 Construction College to the
target audience.
This grant program is of great importance both for the region
and the country, as it serves to disseminate information about vocational
education to the masses, vocational training of interested persons and the
creation of new jobs.
“I would like to thank USAID for promoting the private
sector. It is important that this grant gives us the opportunity to make
vocational education, and then employment, available to even more people.
Having more professional craftsmen is a prerequisite for quality and fast
construction,” said Shota Berekashvili, Managing Partner of BK Construction.
